8th-Axis Vertical Robot Transfer Unit Extends Cobots’ Reach for Large-Scale Applications
The Vertical Robot Transfer Unit (RTU-V) by Bishop-Wisecarver® is engineered to extend the capabilities of small robots or cobots by enabling vertical movement, thereby significantly expanding their working envelope. With travel lengths of up to 4 meters, the RTU-V allows the deployment of a single robot where multiple robots would traditionally be required, offering both efficiency and cost savings.
The RTU-V features a robust structural mounting bracket that can be securely fixed to the factory floor, optimizing operations within a designated area. Additionally, it can be mounted on the DualVee® RTU-H, a high-capacity robot transfer unit, allowing for seamless 2-dimensional motion, further enhancing the versatility and reach of your robotic systems.
The Vertical Robot Transfer Unit (RTU-V) by Bishop-Wisecarver® is a highly versatile solution designed to enhance the capabilities of small robots and cobots by enabling vertical movement. Its primary purpose is to expand the working envelope of these robots, allowing them to cover larger areas and perform tasks that would traditionally require multiple robots.
With a vertical travel length of up to 4 meters, the RTU-V enables significant cost savings by making it possible to use a single robot for large-scale applications. This includes working on oversized workpieces such as rocket tubes, boat hulls, and aerospace structures, as well as performing tasks like painting, sandblasting, and pressure washing of large surfaces.

RTU-V is an extension of the LoPro® RTU-L and RTU-M product offering which is limited to the LoPro® Size 4 linear actuators with wiper wheel plates and steel structural support beam.
RTU-V is compatible with mounting directly to the factory floor or mounting onto the DualVee® RTU-H 7th Axis Robot Transfer Unit.
